We Were Rained Out, But…

We were in the truck. It was all loaded with all our stuff for our Austin market. 15 minutes after we left, we received the email that our market was cancelled due to weather.

The mood in the truck was thick with indecision as we both contemplated what our options are. I looked at Monica. Monica looked at me. We kept driving.

Out market might have been cancelled, but it gave us an opportunity to visit my parents and visit the famous Cedar Park Farmers’ Market. We had been hearing about this market since we got started and just had to stop in.

This market is definitely food and produce oriented. There were very few craft vendors on the day we went. We had a great time. If you are a market manager, this is a market to look at as an example. There were about 75 vendors and people constantly coming and going.

We left this market with our arms loaded with great stuff. We got some fresh mushrooms and Thai dinner kits. Everything you need to make healthy dinners can be found here. What surprised me most is that the prices the vendors charge are really reasonable even for the organic certified produce.

This market occurs every Saturday at Lakeline Mall in Cedar Park, Texas. Hours are 9:00 – 1:00 rain or shine (lucky for us today).

The market can be found online at TexasFarmersMarket.org.
